Particles play a role of friction resistance, as calculated by the formula:

R is equal to the radius of the particle, cm

Eta = subsidence fluid viscosity berth, i.e., g/cm?seconds

Gamma k= particle specific gravity gram/centimeter 3

Gamma t = specific gravity of settling fluid g/cm 3

H = settlement height (the distance from the settlement liquid level to the bottom of the pan) cm

T = settling time seconds

G = acceleration of gravity 980 cm/s 2

After measuring the time t required for particles to settle to a certain height H, settlement velocity V and particle radius r can be calculated.This theory is applied to the so-called sedimentation analysis method to obtain the particle distribution.
